It felt good to be back in practice at CPY. I miss the hot room more than anything. I think the sweat and the purge has become addicting. I would definitely consider practicing on my own in a room, if I could crank the heat up. Today’s theme was centered around the third Niyama, Tapas or self discipline. Tapas is derived from the root Sanskrit word/verb ‘tap’ which means ‘to burn’, and evokes a sense of passion for practice. Tapas can mean cultivating a sense of self-discipline, passion and enthusiasm in order to burn away our impurities whether they be physical, mental or emotional. It is that way in which we can walk in our fire… to burn away that which isn’t truly us.

I know you’ve been paying attention, but remember this. For you to continue to grow and attract that new into your life, you gotta make room for it. So when you feel stuck, it’s a gentle reminder to let go of that shit that is weighing you down. Its no longer serving you. They are tests. You know man.

I really enjoy yoga classes I struggle in, which is primarily a lot of the C2 classes. They have a way at getting at the deepest core muscles and wear out every muscle in my legs almost to the point of exhaustion. Today’s class was taught by Kelly and we were working towards Eight Angle Pose, Astavakrasana, so the majority of the class we were trying to open up and loosen our hamstrings. I was able to sorta get both sides, definitely stronger with my legs out to my right. Neither of which could I full extend my legs, but it was an awesome challenge and something to work on. One things she said that really resonated was, “Can you be a little more patient? A little more patient with yourself. What are you telling yourself? Can you take smaller steps towards a bigger idea?” I often feel like I have to get it all, and get it right away. I was so happy to hear that.

Dude, your path is being cleared right now. All of the blocks are being removed, You know it, you can feel it. It is on wards and upwards from here. The acceleration is unstoppable. Feel it man. Fucking feel that! The New moon is coming in a few days. Everything is aligning. As those blockages dissipate, you are and will continue to see everything and everyone with greater clarity. I think I realized a lot this morning in meditation. Especially in thinking about my kids, especially my son. I’ve seen the way he acts and behaves and I can only image he is carrying my burdens. I am no stranger to his thoughts, and feelings. I feel responsible for the fucked up shit going on in his head because I have not healed it within myself. I think that we as humans carry the weight of our parents. When we become aware of their traumas, and what they carry, then realize it in ourselves, it makes sense then that would be passed down to our children as well through various control dramas. So perhaps my purpose is to heal myself, and to show him how to heal so that he doesn’t carry the weight of his father, his grandfathers, his ancestors. Perhaps he is my purpose. I am not my father. I am not his mistakes. I am not my mother, nor her mistakes. But I am both my mother and my father. I get it now. Or I get what I get, right now. Fucking hell this ain’t easy.

Man, chill the fuck out. All of the disappointments, challenges, struggles, will all make sense soon. I know you can feel it coming. Its right around the corner and its going to come fast. You will be thankful you didn’t run. You have incredible energy and its felt by those who meet you. When you stand up and take action, it motivates those around you. While you may not realize it, you are inspiring others. Give it your all.

Honestly was a bit bummed this morning when the storms rolled in. I wanted to ride tonight. I made peace with it though and knew I needed a hot room so I made my way to CPY for a C1 class at 1:30. I had never taken a class by Janet before. I couldn’t tell if she was a newer teacher or had been teaching for a long time because she was so confident in her speaking. There were just a couple things missed that I thought were pretty important. Particularly mentioning Drishti, or focal point during balance postures and unlocking our front knee in Triangle,Utthita Trikonasana. With that said, I could’ve been off in my own world and totally missed hearing her. So I am not really sure. Her intention for the class was Judgement. Fucking hell, that’s what I needed to hear. Not only judgement, but unfair judgement of self. On top of that her core song, by Sam Cooke….FUCK YEA!

You have been experiencing a lot, especially as of recently. I know you want to know why, I know you can’t stop thinking about it. The thing is, and again you already know this, but shit ain’t fun in the comfort zone. You’re being given the chance to be uncomfortable again, and again so take it. You have the opportunity to grow beyond what you even think is possible. Its transformational man! Go with it… Dude, listen to me! … Your holding it all in your heart. Let it go. There is zero reason to regret anything you’ve done in life. Every single thing, every decision you’ve made, was for a reason, and serves you a purpose. It so funny when you surprise yourself. It will continue to happen as you remain in alignment with you are and most definitely who you intend to be. As you grow and learn to ignore your fears, they will shatter. Keep moving, forward, side to side, and every once in a while even backwards. Keep moving man, with faith and confidence. Speak and put yourself out there. That is part of self love. What you are coming to realize is that when you glow from the inside, people recognize. I got a lot of sleep the last two nights. Although waking up this morning, my sinus was draining and felt a little bit of ache in my knees so decided to bail on riding in Duluth today which is a bummer. But considering I have a marathon coming up on Sept 7th, I didn’t feel like pushing it was the best idea. I may head to a yoga sesh at noon. I think the sweat may be good, but I will see how I feel by then.

Where ever you are feeling the pressure, there is an opportunity for YOU to transform. Its an opportunity for you to show up and act, behave differently. You know exactly what you need to do and where you need to do it. It may not be easy. But it’s all in your state of mind. Let others believe how hard things need to be. Do your thing man. It’s never as difficult as they say. So why even listen? Take that quantum leap. Trust what you are doing, what you are planning. It’s going to take you where you ultimately want to be.

Checked out a C1 class today at NE. It was a great class, new experience. I haven’t taken any classes at the NE studio. It was good, not sure it is a favorite. The intention Emily set for us was growth. I enjoyed hearing her speak on growth and challenge as we moved from pose to pose. It was bit mechanical, but very well said.

Dude, its gonna work out. Change, evolution, it’s all in the process of happening. Everything you have been stressing about won’t even matter soon, man. And you know it. I know you know it.
